BINFIELD, Private, CHARLES TIMOTHY HERBERT, 484, 31st Bn, Australian Infantry, A.I.F, Died of wounds 1 November 1916. Age 26. Son of Mr and Mrs T. H. Binfield of Dover. II E 36. He embarked from Brisbane on HMAT Wandilla on 9 November 1915. On 15 September 1916 he was appointed Lance Corporal in the field, and on 31 October 1916 he was wounded in action. He died of his wounds on 1 November 1916 at the 1st Anzac Dressing Station in the Field, from compound fracture and extensive laceration of the brain.
