Was on Sandakan Ranau death march

24 May 1946, In Memoriam included the words "Also a tribute to the memory of his gallant comrades of 2nd/10th Australian Field Ambulance, who made the supreme sacrifices whilst prisoners of war, North Borneo"

REED, George William Albert, Private, 6144893, died 31 December 1943 aged 25. Served in the East Surrey Regiment, 2 Battalion. Born in 1918 in Dover, the son of John W Reed and Edith Mary, née Woof, who married in Dover in 1917. He married Irene Alma Reynolds in 1939. Grave B6 O 18. Commemorated on the River Parish Memorial
