Household Cavalry. Regt. selected Royal Horse Guards. Born in the parish of Woolwich, Kent. Age 19 years - 3 months. Occupation - Engine Driver. Enlisted Dover, December 8th

December 1906.
Suffered accidents while managing his horses,
eg 24 August 1909, the horse suddenly threw up his head, the
heavy nosebag striking Heron, who had to report to hospital, and
eg 10 September 1910, while taking a saddle off his horse he was
kicked, and eg 24 May 1910 necessitating hospital until 28 May
1910 when the saddle slipped while he and his horse were jumping Home 8/2/06 to 15/8/14. BEF 16/8/14 to 12/4/17. Passed class of instruction - Machine
Gunner 1st class. 1911. Next of kin - Father J. Heron, 1 Eaton
Road, Dover. Wife - Edith - 4, Dour Cottages near Wood
Street, Dover. Brother (E) A. W. Heron, R. E. Chatham. To whom married. Edith Hawes, spinster, Christ Church,
Mitcham, Surrey. 8/1/16.
Had a child born January 1909 for whom a
maintenance order was payable to Ethel Maud Gilham, 162
Heathfield Avenue, Dover Wounded 11/4/17. Died 12/4/17. 1901 census the family were at 15/16
Trevanion Street, this was the Providence Inn. Not there in the
1914 street book.
