The Lascar Memorial at St Mary's Cemetery

Erected by the P & O Company to the memory of 22 Lascar Seamen who lost their lives by the sinking of the Peninsular and Oriental Steam Navigation Company's SS "Maloja" through enemy action off this place, 27th February 1916

The memorial is surrounded by a lawn covering the seamen's graves.

On the seafront is the Merchant Navy Memorial.
